A sweep, a vacuum, and a mop walk into a bar and…

I put them to good use cleaning my house. The end. Yup, you guessed it, a very special return to Domestic Duties Monday! Yay!! So what else is on the docket today? Laundry? Check. Dishes? Check. Kitchen counters, sink and stove top. Check, check, and fucken check! I suppose once all that is done, I could run the towels, and bathroom mats through the wash, since the dog has put muddy prints on every single thing in the house these last three very wet, and rainy days. Easy to forget just how dirty a dog will make your house. Shed hair, sloppy drinking habits from their bowl, kibble crumbs, and dirty paw prints. Add that to the whirlwind of chaos that are my two kids, and you have yourself a recipe for a seemingly never ending chores list. Pre puppy, I could leave the floors for two or three days, but now, it’s nearly every single day that they look awful.

I am training him to enjoy getting brushed, as I hope to limit the amount of bum fluff he deposits onto my floors by regularly combing that lighter stuff out of his coat. He’s new enough that 90% of the grime I cleaned from the car was from the girls, and not him. He’s still not too keen on having his nails done, but whatever. Small steps right?

I was thinking that I could put on a Christmas movie and wrap some stocking stuffers. But I think I’ll wait for the bigger stuff I ordered to show, and then I’ll wrap it all up, and get it done the first week of December. Try as I might, I can’t quite feel the Christmas spirit yet. American Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened! Nor the new emergent consumer holiday of Black Friday where things pretend to go on sale.

I’m nearly done my shopping list. I have a niece & nephew to deal with, my own parents, and last, but not least my wife needs to decide what she really wants. She mentioned some items off hand which I have picked up already, but I want to know what she actually, really, deep down, wants as a present.

For the moment the house smells of lemon scented soaps. I’m going to wash the appliances exteriors, the sink and stove. Through some laundry in, and wait for some work emails to filter in. Take care out there on this cool, sunny, Monday in late November 2024. Ciao Bella!
