After revelations that our neighbour had passed from home cancer in his femur, we’ve just had need that another (much younger) friend has a similar diagnosis of bone cancer in his thigh and is set to begin chemo at Mount Sinai on Monday. After eight weeks they will decide if he needs to amputate the leg. But only if it has not spread to his lungs, lymph nodes, brain, and other organs first. That’s a terrible bit of news for a Thursday morning. With any luck they can cut him free of his cancerous source, and he is able to live a long, and fulfilling life afterwards.
