Good thing I don’t gamble.

I have been on a longer than usual stretch of bad games played where I’m not even reaching forty million points. Typically I would consider reaching level thirteen with a minimum of forty million points an ok game played. I’m happier when I can hit fifty, sixty, or even seventy million points or more. But as of late I am struggling to get out of the thirty million range, which makes my all time high score of up & over 170,000,000 points that much more elusive. I rarely reach one hundred million points nowadays, so I cannot for the life of me remember what type of event I triggered to get such a highly inflated score on Bejeweled 2. I’m just glad I don’t put quarters in a slot to fund it because after reaching such a fabulous high score (even if I do say so myself!) I’d go broke trying to tie it or break that high score. I’ve gotten score into the hundred million range before, so I know that I can do it, but… Man. Adding a gambling element to this would be deadly. So glad I don’t use betting apps or hit the casinos around here except to go see live shows.

It is now Wednesday. I have been notified of a new big project, so I have set myself up to begin that once I have all of the details in hand. I have the photography downloaded, and my document template set up ready and raring to go. I am assuming it will be a comparative report, of year over year data from last year. That would be my guess, but I could be wrong, and have been before. No matter. I’m geared up for its arrival at some point this week.

The start of the new school year is quickly approaching, and I do not think the kids are ready to fit back into such a rigid schedule full of structured days just yet. They have grown accustomed to a certain level of freedom of choice. I look forward to their return to school because in September I will have a severe clear out of the house. A massive purge of junk & waste which will make me feel better about the state of our home. I have piled of the children’s homework to sort out for recycling or to keep. Clothes and closets to attack with vigor.  Toy bins to empty, and damaged crafts to dispose of quietly and discretely.

Don’t get me started on the joys of a good household purge. We have shoes and boots to do again this year too. Coats, sweaters, pants and winter gear we’ve grown out of too. I send it along via donations or hand me downs within the family, and my wife, and several local friends help to load is back up with all new stuff. It’s cyclical! And I appreciate it dearly. As do those whom receive our stuff after we no longer need it all. Avoiding landfills, and giving others the same help we got is good for everybody. Plus it makes me happy when I can see the floors, and the back of our closets once more. I love to get rid of boxes, and wrappers, and open items for use instead of keeping things in their boxes until they are no longer useful, or break down on their own from lack of use. If we haven’t used it in more than a year or two we likely don’t need it (depending on what it is of course).

On a side note the lights and power has been surging quite a bit today. The lights and fans go nutty, and it’s very distracting. Odd because it hasn’t been hot enough to have everybody using their AC units, so I don’t know what is putting so much strain on the local power grid. Maybe we are all doing loads of laundry at the same time, or busting out microwaves, fans, and our dryers all at once! Shouldn’t be as hard as 100% of the town running air conditioners and pool heaters though. I don’t know. But I do know that the lights flickering gives me a headache, so I shut off most of our lights to give my eyes a break from the fluctuations.

We are also approaching the time of year when every window and door with a bug screen should be kept open to enjoy the warm breezes. Not too hot nor humid, and not too cold yet either. September and October are fantastic months in southern Ontario. Makes September at college or university just that much better, and far more memorable. I hate winter so that’s my opinion anyway. Not a fan of snow once we’ve hit and passed New Years Eve. But I digress.
