Right into the thick of it.

Coming back to Wood Pile Three (Fig 1.)

There’s a whole lot of wood here that’s going to take a herculean amount of arm strength to chop through over the next year or two. If I do ever get back down there with my chainsaws there’s an awful lot of logs to process to make things a little easier on myself. Or I can leave them to rot and let the farm hands dump them into the tree line. I personally think there will be enough wood I just can’t split by hand, to not need to just add stuff to that column unnecessarily. With crotches, knots, burls and just green wood not ready to go yet I should just take an hour or two and make more manageable rounds that I can manoeuvre around without putting my back out. Work smart means I can keep up with it for longer.

It helps that I only do this stuff for ninety minutes to two hours a day. I was working up a hell of a sweat today. It’s been almost 20°C the last little while which is well above seasonal for November. I don’t mind being able to work in pants and a t-shirt comfortably. But it seems odd in November, even if I do say so myself. Also the ticks are really making themselves known again. Saw two on my person yesterday. Yuck!

It’s now Wednesday, so I’m going to move some laundry over, and maybe I’ll spend some time doing leaves on the front lawn too. I don’t know. Let’s see how the day unfolds around me.
